Useless - Experimenta
A study trip to Lisbon with interiors students to take part in a two day workshop as part of Experimenta Design Biennale with students from Design des Ambientes at ESAD in Caldas de Rainha and design studio Pedrita . During the two days students explored the theme of 'useless' in the main 'lounging space' (courthouse building) at the centre of the festival. Students scavenged furniture from the disused building, reinterpreting what they found into staged scenes that commented on the history and context of the building in relationship to the design festival theme.
The workshop was based around our practices as staff – using design thinking to materialise responses to scenarios through installation and intervention..
